Jaiho Arcade APK, step by step

The installer comes from the site rather than the Play Store, which is normal for this category in India and is the part that worries people most. Here is what the file is, what it asks for, and what the warning screen actually means.

The file

What you are downloading

Build details

Platform: Android
Minimum version: Android 5.0 and up
Current version: 23.1
File size: 36.9 MB
Permissions requested: 8
Cost: free to install

Check what you downloaded against that 36.9 MB before you install it. A repackaged copy has had code inserted into it, and inserted code changes the byte count, so a file that is meaningfully larger or smaller is not this build. It is the fastest single check there is and it takes ten seconds in your Downloads folder.

Why it is not on the Play Store

Google does not accept real money gaming apps in India, or in most other markets. The category is excluded by store policy, not by a regulator, and it applies to every app of this kind rather than to this one specifically.

That is why the file comes from the site. It also means the four authenticity checks below matter more than they would for a Play Store app, because there is no store review standing between you and a bad copy.

Installing

The steps, and the screen that stops people

About a minute. Most of it is the download.

1. Download

Tap the download button. Chrome may warn that this file type can harm your device, which is a generic warning shown for every APK. Choose to keep it.

2. Open it

From the notification shade or from your Downloads folder.

3. Allow this source

Android will say installation from unknown sources is blocked. Tap Settings, turn on the permission for the browser you downloaded with, then go back.

4. Install and switch it back off

Install, then return to that setting and turn it off again. Leaving it on is the actual risk, not the app.

The warning is about the source, not the file. Android cannot tell whether an APK is safe. What it is telling you is that nobody reviewed it on the way in, so the responsibility for checking sits with you. That is exactly what the permission list is for.
Permissions

What the app asks for, and what it does not

Eight permissions. Compare this against what your phone shows under Settings, Apps, App details.

What it asks for

Internet and network state so it can reach the game servers and tell wifi from mobile data. Notifications and push messages, both of which you can decline without breaking the app. Vibrate for feedback on a result. Keep screen awake so the display does not sleep mid round. Background jobs so an interrupted download finishes. Advertising ID, which credits an install back to the page that sent you and is resettable under your phone's privacy settings.

What it never touches

Not your storage, so your photos and documents stay invisible to it. Not your contacts. Not your location. Not the camera or the microphone. Not SMS or call logs. Not phone state, meaning it cannot read your number or your IMEI.

Eight permissions in, six categories firmly out. If a build you downloaded is asking for anything in the second list, it is not this app.

When it fails

Installations that do not finish

App not installed. Almost always an older copy of the same app already on the phone with a different signature, which happens if the first one came from somewhere else. Uninstall the old one and run the installer again. You will not lose an account, because the account lives on the server against your mobile number.

Parse error. The download did not finish, or it finished corrupted. Delete the file and download it again on a stable connection rather than retrying the install.

Not enough storage. Android needs room for the installer and the installed app at the same time, so it needs meaningfully more free space than the file size suggests.

Play Protect warning. Google flags apps in this category by default because of the store policy above rather than because of anything found in the file. You can proceed, and if you would rather not, that is a legitimate decision to make at this point.

Blocked by the phone maker. Some Indian handset brands add a second layer of install protection on top of Android's own. It usually appears as a separate security prompt with its own toggle.

Questions

Download and install questions

Where do I download the Jaiho Arcade APK?

From the official site rather than a file sharing service or a link somebody sent you. Compare the file size against the published figure before installing.

Why is Jaiho Arcade not on the Play Store?

Google does not accept real money gaming apps in India or most other markets. It is a store policy that applies to the whole category rather than a legal ruling about this app.

Is it safe to allow installation from unknown sources?

Turning it on for one install and off again straight after is the low risk way to do it. Leaving it permanently on for a browser is what creates exposure.

How many permissions does the app need?

Eight, and none of them reach your storage, contacts, location, camera, microphone, SMS or phone state. A build asking for any of those is not this app.

It says App not installed. What now?

Usually an older copy with a different signature is already on the phone. Uninstall it and run the installer again. Your account is stored against your mobile number, so nothing is lost.

What is the current version of Jaiho Arcade?

Version 23.1, at 36.9 MB, for Android 5.0 and above. Compare the size of any file you downloaded against that figure before installing it.

Do I need to reinstall to update?

No. When the app is already installed and the incoming file is genuine, Android offers Update rather than Install and your data stays in place.

Play for entertainment, not for income. Jaiho Arcade runs on real money and every game in it is built to return less than it takes over time. Decide what you are willing to lose before you deposit, set a deposit limit in the app, and stop when you reach it rather than when you feel like it. Online gaming is regulated state by state in India, so check what applies where you live before you play. If it stops being fun, the app has a self exclusion setting and there is free confidential help available.
